Coldfusion 5 and below

Coldfusion 5 and below allow automated installation of CFX tags through the setup executable. Follow these steps to install or upgrade CFX_ImageCR for Coldfusion version 5 and below.

1. Stop the Coldfusion Server

2. Run the CFX_ImageCR setup executable and follow the instructions.

3. Start the Coldfusion Server

Advanced Notes

Stopping and starting the Coldfusion Server is necessary for two reasons:

  • To release the handles of files in use during an upgrade, ie. cfx_imagecr3.dll
  • To refresh the Coldfusion Server settings

The instructions noted above are expected to deal with the majority of Coldfusion 5 and below configurations. Advanced users might alter the installation procedure if they understand these advanced notes. Some of these advanced users, or administrators, will find "net start/stop" and "cfusion_settings_refresh()" useful.
