Manual installation via zip file

Complete manual installation is for administrators and advanced users only. The zipped archive of ImageCR 3 is primarily provided to webhosts unwilling to run setup executables, and users without system administrator access.

1.   Extract the archive to a location of your choosing

• Note that EffImg350j.dll and cfx_imagecr3.dll are two different files.
• The first is the ImageCR engine DLL, and the second is the CFX tag you will register.
• The engine DLL name follows the form "EffImgXYZ.dll" and differs by version, XYZ.
• The CFX tag DLL will be named cfx_imagecr3_demo.dll if you are installing a trial.

2.   Move or copy EffImg350j.dll to your library path; one of the following locations:
• The System32 directory (recommended) (eg. C:\Windows\System32)
• The System directory
• The Windows directory
• A directory on your PATH

3.   Register cfx_imagecr3.dll in the Coldfusion Administrator as a C++ tag
    • Remember to check "Keep Library Loaded". It increases performance.

If you do not install ImageCR correctly, it will not work correctly.

Advanced Notes

The Efflare imaging engine dll takes the form "EffImgXYZ.dll". At the time of this writing it is EffImg350j.dll. It changes when new versions are released. If your zip archive contains a file with a name in the form "EffImgXYZ.dll", please use that file in place of the specific version this documentation mentions.

If you do not have access to the directories in Step 2, you can use our free tag CFX_ENV to modify your PATH environment variable, allowing you to place the DLL wherever you like.

Windows also searches for libraries in the current directory and starting directory of a process.

Other forms of CFX tag installation in Coldfusion MX and above are possible. Contact us for more information.
